T'oung Pao

T'oung Pao (Chinese通报, Pinyin TongBao ), founded in 1890, is the first international journal of Chinese Studies.

It was originally called T'oung Pao ou pour servir à l' étude Archives de l' histoire, des langues, la geography et l' Asie Orientale de l' ethnography ( Chine, Japon, Corée, Indo - Chine Asie Centrale et Malaisie ).

Publisher

T'oung Pao appears in Leiden in the publishing house Brill. Its first editors were Henri Cordier and Gustav Schlegel.

Other well-known editor of the magazine have included Édouard Chavannes and Paul Pelliot. The current editors are Pierre- Etienne Will ( from the Collège de France in Paris ), Paul W. Kroll ( University of Colorado, Boulder) and Martin Kern ( Princeton University).
