Tabu - A story of love and guilt is a Portuguese film director Miguel Gomes of Drama from 2012.

Action

The socially engaged Pilar lives in a block of houses in the Greater Lisbon area, in close proximity to the flamboyant older Aurora and her Cape Verdean housekeeper. As Aurora is dying, she asks Pilar to look for a certain Gian Luca Ventura. Production

Referred to in the film Mount taboo does not exist in reality. The film was shot in the area of ​​tea plantations of Gurué in the Mozambican province of Zambezia, also in Lisbon and Estoril Casino.

The film was shot in black and white. In the second part also the sound has been reduced. It is to hear the narrative voice Venturas, and various background noises and music of the movie scenes, but not dialogues. The film's title itself is a further reference to the silent movie, and plays on Murnau's film Tabu on.
