Tadeusz Brzozowski

Tadeusz Brzozowski (* October 21, 1749 in Königsberg, † February 5, 1820 in Polotsk ) was the 19th General of the Society of Jesus.

Life

As Superior General of the Jesuits died 1805 in Russia Gabriel Gruber on 26 March, the General Assembly, on September 2, 1805 Brzozowski to their general.

Brzozowski was not allowed until his death, to leave the Tsarist empire and take up his office in Rome, although the Society of Jesus by Pope Pius VII by virtue of the bull Sollicitudo omnium ecclesiarum was readmitted on August 7, 1814.

On February 5, 1820 Tadeusz Brzozowski died. This day the Tsar banished all Jesuits from Russia. Aloysius Fortis followed by Brzozowski in office.
