Tadeusz Czeżowski

Tadeusz Czeżowski ( born July 26, 1889 in Vienna, † March 28, 1981 in Toruń ) was a Polish philosopher and logician of the Lvov -Warsaw School.

Life and work

Czeżowski studied at the Lviv University: Mathematics, with Józef Puzyna, Marcin Ernst and Waclaw Sierpiński, Physics at Ignacy Zakrzewski and Marian Smoluchowski, and philosophy at Kazimierz Twardowski, Mścisław Wartenberg, Władysław Witwicki and Jan Łukasiewicz. 1914 and his doctorate in 1920 he qualified himself ibid. From 1923 to 1939 he was professor at the Stefan Batory University in Wilno and from 1945 to 1960 professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In 1948 he was in Thorn editor of the magazine Ruch Filozoficzny who appeared before the war in Lviv.
