Tadeusz Kraus

Tadeáš Kraus ( born October 22, 1932 in Třinec ) is a former Czech football player and coach of Polish descent.

Club career

Kraus began playing football at Sila Trzyniec, at the age of 15, he was inducted into the first team. From 1951 to 1953 he interrupted his career to study at a Prague Sports University. Subsequently, the left winger played for the army clubs Křídla vlasti Olomouc and Prague UDA.

For season 1956 Kraus moved to Sparta Prague, for whom he played for ten years. In the season 1963/64, he was with the team of Czechoslovak Cup Winners' Cup, in the following year Czechoslovak champion. For Sparta graduated Kraus, who was later also used in the midfield, a total of 458 games in which he scored 201 goals.

From 1966 to 1969 Kraus played for the then second division LIAZ Jablonec, then went for two years as player-coach to Melbourne, where he was responsible for the local team Slavia.

National

In the Czechoslovak national Kraus was used a total of 23 times. He made his debut on 23 September 1953 at the World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria, which Czechoslovakia won 2-1. He stood in the World Cup squad in 1954, as he took part in the World Cup 1958. His last game for Czechoslovakia graduated Kraus on April 5, 1959 his team defeated Ireland in their European Championship qualifier 0-2.

Coaching career

After his return to Czechoslovakia he took over in the 1971/72 season Sparta Prague and won with the team the national cup competition. 1974 Kraus moved to LIAZ Jablonec, 1976, he was coach of the team Cypriot Aris Limassol, which he supervised until 1980 and again from 1983 to 1985.
