Taittinger

Taittinger is indigenous to Reims Champagne producers. The company was formed in 1931 from the winery Forest & Furneaux, which had existed since 1734. Taittinger is one of the few Champagne houses that are still family owned. Current Managing Director since 2006 Pierre -Emmanuel Taittinger.

History

1915, a native of Alsace Pierre -Charles Taittinger was stationed as a cavalry officer on the staff of Field Marshal Joseph Joffre at the Château de la Marquetterie, a castle near Epernay. The estate today covers 288 hectares and is one of the largest in the entire Champagne, spread over a total of 34 Grand Cru sites. The winery is located in Reims in the former Benedictine monastery of Saint Nicaise.

  • Brut Réserve: Non-vintage, grape varieties: 40 % Pinot Noir, 40 % Chardonnay and 20 % Pinot Meunier. Blended from 40 different locations. The maturation period is at least 3 years.
  • Brut Demi -Sec: Non-vintage, grape varieties: 40 % Pinot Noir, 40 % Chardonnay and 20 % Pinot Meunier. Dosage is 35 grams of sugar per liter. The maturation period is at least 3 years.
  • Brut Prestige Rosé: Non-vintage, Grapes: 100 % Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, of which 12-15% still wines. The maturation period is at least 3 years.
  • Prélude Grands Crus: Non-vintage, grape varieties: 50 % Pinot Noir from Grand Cru in Bouzy and Ambonnay and 50 % Chardonnay exclusively Crands Cru in Avize and Le Mesnil -sur- Oger.
  • Breeding Millésimé: vintage, grape varieties: 50 % Pinot Noir from Champagne - areas Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne and 50 % Chardonnay predominantly from Grands Cru in the Cote des Blancs.
  • Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs: Vintage, Grape variety: 100 % Chardonnay exclusively Crands Cru in the Cote des Blancs (including Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil -sur- Oger, Oger and Pierry ). The maturity period is at least 5 years.
  • Comtes de Champagne Rosé: vintage, grape varieties: 70 % Pinot Noir exclusively Crands Cru in Bouzy ( including 12 % still wines ) and 30 % Chardonnay exclusively Crands Cru in Ambonnay. 1966, the first vintage was produced. The maturity period is at least 5 years.
