Tak Matsumoto

Takahiro " Tak " Matsumoto (Japanese松本 孝 弘, Matsumoto Takahiro, born March 27, 1961 in Toyonaka, Osaka ) is a Japanese guitarist, songwriter and composer.

Tak Matsumoto is best known for the Japanese rock band B'z, for which he writes a lot of songs. He is also a successful solo artist.

Background

Matsumoto's style of music was initially heavily influenced by jazz. His own style, which developed gradually, in Japan known as Kansai Blues, and combines elements of classical, metal, rock and ska.

Mid-80s, he released his first album Thousend Wave. It was also an attempt to just in Japan emerging solo instrumental trend to use for themselves. The plate includes a metal version of Spain and with a twice as long version of Take Five tributes to Chick Corea and Dave Brubeck. He works for the future bandleader Globe, Tetsuya Komuro, together. Tak maintained friendly relations with many well known bands and musicians such as Barry Sparks, Billy Sheehan, Eddie Van Halen, Eric Martin, Jack Blades, Joe Perry, par Torpeley, Shane Galaas, Stevan Tyler and Steve Vai. With Steve Vai together they made recordings for the song Asia Sky by 1999. The song The Ultra Zone was recorded with Billy Sheehan and published on B'zs album Brotherhood.
