The Takadanobaba Station (Japanese高田 马 场 駅, Takadanobaba -eki ) is located in Shinjuku in Tokyo Prefecture, Japan. The river Kanda (神 田 川, Kandagawa ) flows about 100 m north of the station in east-west direction.

History

Design and tracks

The Takadanobaba station was built in the commonly encountered construction of a railway station in the form of a transit station. The tracks of the JR East Yamanote Line and the Seibu Shinjuku line run above ground in north-south direction and drive a train station with five platforms. The Yamanote line then travels to a single central platform. On platform 1 by the trains of the Yamanote Line. The remaining three aerial platforms will be used by the Shinjuku line. 3 On the platform the trains in the direction hajima and Hon- Kawagoe, on platform 5, the trains in the direction of Shinjuku. Platform 4 is used only during the week during morning rush hour as an additional exit.

The two tracks of the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line run underground in east-west direction. These are used by two side platforms from. From Platform 1, the trains direction Otemachi and Nishi- Funabashi, from platform 2 of the trains in the direction of Nakano.

Lines

The station is served by three companies with a total of three lines. These are the Yamanote Line JR East, the Tozai Line of Tokyo Metro and the Shinjuku Line Seibu tetsudō. The colors used in the table below the Yamanote Line and the Tozai line correspond to the color used on the society of the line.

Station melody

Since 1 April 2003, the theme song of the 1963 Japanese television broadcast Anime Astro Boy on the eponymous manga by Osamu Tezuka template is played on the platforms of the Yamanote Line. This has been selected at this time, since the story of the manga in 2003 begins.

Environment

Near the train station are among others, the Waseda University, Gakushuin Women's University (学习 院 女子 大学, Gakushuin joshi daigaku ), the Fuji University Tōkyō (东京 富士 大学, Tōkyō fuji daigaku ) as well as the headquarters of Taishō Seiyaku (大 正 制 薬 株式会社, Taishō Seiyaku Kabushiki - gaisha ).

Use

In 2007, the station from an average of 212 286 passengers was used on the day, so that the rank 10 took over 900 on the ranking of the busiest train stations of JR East in 2007. The Tozai Line of the Tokyo Metro was used at the station from an average of 187 458 passengers per day in 2007. The station is now on place 9 of the busiest train stations of Tokyo Metro. The train station of Shinjuku line is used by an average of 294 094 passengers a day. The train station making it the third most-used station on the Seibu tetsudō in 2007.
