Takakazu Ishii

Takakazu Ishii (Japanese石井 隆 一, Ishii Takakazu, actually石井 一; * December 15, 1945 in Toyama, Toyama Prefecture) is a Japanese politician, a former official since 2004 and Governor of Toyama.

Ishii was after his studies at the Law Faculty of the University of Tokyo official in the " Ministry of Self-Government ", after the reform of the central government in 2001 then in the " Ministry of General Affairs ". There he was last among other shingikan ( position among the Secretaries of State ), Head of the Department of Municipal and prefectural taxes and from 2002 Head of Shobo -chō, the national Fire and Disaster Management Agency.

2004 retired in Toyama prefecture governor Yutaka Nakaoki after 24 years in office back. Ishii ended his official career and applied for the succession. His candidacy was supported by the major parties, the trade union federation Rengo Toyama and the local Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (JA Group). Family

Ishii's wife is the mathematician Shihoko Ishii, who won the Saruhashi Award 1995, which is awarded annually to a Japanese scientist under 50 who has made important contributions to science.
