Takamisakari Seiken

Takamisakari Seiken (Japanese高见 盛 精 彦; born May 12, 1976 in Itayanagi, County Kitatsugaru, Aomori Prefecture, as Seiken Katō ) is a former Japanese sumo wrestler.

Takamisakari belonged to the Ringer barn at Azumazeki the former sekiwake Takamiyama, which included the former yokozuna Akebono.

He made his debut at the Spring Tournament ( Haru Basho ) in 1999 as a so-called makushita Tsukedashi. He quickly rose to the ranks and was already in the following year at the tournament in Nagoya his debut in the Makuuchi division, where he achieved a good result 10-5 and won the special award for fighting spirit. But in September he suffered a serious knee injury that took several months of injury by itself. He therefore had to the makushita Division descend again. In March 2002, he rose again in the Makuuchi division and reached half a year later the rank of komusubi, its highest rank, but he should recover just one more time (November 2003). After that Takamisakari moved mostly in the middle of the Maegashiraränge before he descended into the juryo Division in September 2011. In January 2013, he finished his career.

Although only moderately successful, Takamisakari was one of the most popular Sumokämpfern ( rikishi ). This was due in part to its spectacular, robot-like movements during warming up on the ring. He also distinguished himself by a great fighting spirit, even if he had injury problems. In encounters with him therefore particularly many extra sponsorship money (called Kensho -kin ) were exposed.

His fighting style was relatively easy. For the majority of his fights he prevailed with Yorikiri.
