Takanosu (Akita)

Takanosu (Japanese鹰 巣 町, machi, literally Falkennest ) was a town in Akita Kita -gun in the Japanese prefecture of Akita. It is situated between Ōdate in the east and in the west Noshiro.

History

On 22 March 2003, the Machi Takanosu, Aikawa closed (合川 町, machi ), Moriyoshi (森吉 町, machi ) and Ani (阿仁 町, machi ) for Shi Kita- Akita together.

Traffic

Takanosu is connected by the National Road 7 to Niigata or Aomori, the starting point of the national road 105 after Yurihonjo or the National Road 285 to Akita or Kazuno.

On the rail network Takanosu is served by the JR Ou Main Line to Fukushima or Aomori and Akita Nairiku beginning of the line of Akita Nairiku Jukan tetsudō after Senboku.

Also located in the airport Takanosu Ōdate - Noshiro.

Culture

Takanosu is famous for its drums. The city stands in the Guinness Book of Records with the world's largest drum. For larger cultural street parties the huge drums were pulled in chariots of tractors and beaten. For this reason, the city also had the drum as a landmark.

From time to time, city festivals were celebrated on the streets, such as in late summer Bon Odori.

Education

In Takanosu were two borne by the prefecture secondary schools: high school Takanosu and the Agriculture and Forestry High School Takanosu. The latter forms a training school with 3 possible areas of specialization: Agricultural Chemistry, Forest Ecology and Ecological Engineering.
