Takargo Rail

Takargo Rail SA, usually only Takargo, is a company incorporated in September 2006 Portuguese railway company of the Mota - Engil Group. The company operates in conjunction with the COMSA under the name Ibercargo Rail SA three freight lines between Portugal and Spain; Moreover, it is the first private company in Portugal, which operates commercial freight services alongside state Comboios de Portugal.

Takargo Rail, part of the Mota Engil company into was established after the liberalization of the Portuguese rail market in September 2006. In 2008 the company took the first freight traffic. Currently Takargo operates three regular daily lines; Zaragoza - Lisbon, Madrid, Lisbon and Entroncamento - Tarragona ( Barcelona ).

Takargo acquired 4000 locomotives for cross -border freight traffic 18 Vossloh Euro. In Portugal, these are known as Series 6000, in Spain as class 335. Furthermore, they can two acquired by the CP locomotives of the series in 1400 and 146 freight cars to call their own.

2007 Takargo generated a turnover of 0.4 million euros, 6.3 million euros in 2008, 2009, 14.8 million euros.
