Tal Ben Haim

Tal Ben Haim; Hebrew טל בן חיים; ( Born March 31, 1982 in Rishon LeZion ) is an Israeli football player standing since July 2013 when Standard Liege under contract.

Career

Clubs

Tal Ben Haim is considered the best central defender of Israel, and played in the English Premier League since 2004. Prior to his move to Bolton Wanderers, he won the Israeli Championship with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2003. He was allowed a few times wearing the captain's armband and was voted player of Bolton in 2005.

In June 2007, Chelsea announced the signing of Tal Ben Haim. Ben Haim came free transfer and received a four-year contract until 2011. During Chelsea already played his compatriot Ben Sahar. In 2008 he moved to Manchester City, but was hired by the Citizens in January 2009 to the AFC Sunderland and then sold to Portsmouth in the summer of 2009. After the Portsmouth was relegated from the Premier League, Ben Haim moved on loan to West Ham United. However, the loan contract only ran until January 2011, he met his former coach Avram Grant, who is also Israeli. In summer 2012, his contract with Portsmouth FC was disbanded and he was without a club. Beginning in January 2013, he signed a contract with the Premier League club Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season 2012/13.

Ben Haim was on 13 February 2002 against Germany his debut in the senior national team of Israel, and quickly established himself as a regular player.
