Talysh Khanate

The Talysh Khanate was a state in present-day Azerbaijan, which existed from 1747 to 1826. The capital of the Khanate was Lənkəran. The state was in the southeastern part of Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea. The northern boundary was formed Bolqarchay the river and parts of the estuary of the river Kura.

History

When the Safavid fled during the riots in Iran in the 1720s to the north, also some of them in the area of ​​Talysh settled. The area was conquered in 1722 by Russia.
