Tamara Costache

Tamara Costache ( born July 23, 1970) is a former Romanian swimmer.

The specialist for short freestyle distances was both first European as well as world champion in the 50 m freestyle. She won the European title at the World Championships in 1986 in Madrid and European titles at the championships in 1987, when they additionally behind Kristin Otto won the silver medal in the 100 m freestyle. With Micrea Hohoiu she had the same coach as times also Michael Gross.

In 1988, she ended her career.
