Amy Van Dyken

Amy Van Dyken (* February 15, 1973 in Greenwood Village ) is a former American swimmer.

With its six gold medals it is one of the most successful swimmers in the Olympics. At the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, she was about 50 m freestyle and 100 m butterfly and with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and the 4 × 100 m medley relay each Olympic champion. In the same year she was honored with the Athlete of the Year Award from the Associated Press.

Four years later, at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she succeeded with the seasons again the winning two gold medals. In 2007, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport. Van Dykens name was found in the BALCO affair on a list of doping customers.

Amy Van Dyken is married to NFL Football player Tom Rouen.
