Caren Metschuck

Caren Metschuck ( born September 27, 1963 in Greifswald ) is a German former swimmer and multiple Olympic champion.

At the Olympic Games in 1980 it was over 100 m butterfly Olympic champion. In addition, she also won the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and the 4 × 100 m medley relay gold. Thus they became the most successful female participant of this Olympics. A year later she was at the European Championships in Split 1981 European champion over 100m freestyle and won again with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and the 4 × 100 m medley relay. After the 1982 World Series and the World Champion title with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, she ended her brief career and became a teacher.

In 1990, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport. In the same year she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.

Today it is called Caren Mahn and works as a trainer at SC State Empor Rostock in 2000, where she sang top German swimmer Thomas Rupp Rath trains.
