Mayumi Aoki

Mayumi Aoki (Japanese青木 まゆみ, Mayumi Aoki, born May 1, 1953 in Yamaga, Kumamoto Prefecture ) is a former Japanese swimmer.

At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 she won the first gold medal for Japan in the Womens Swimming since Hideko Maehata 1936 Olympic champion over 200m breaststroke was. You won the race over 100m butterfly. In 1973, she was able to win the bronze medal over this distance at the first World Swimming Championships in Belgrade.

In 1989 she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
