Tan Joe Hok

Tan Joe Hok ( born August 11, 1937 in Bandung, also known as Hendra Kartanegara ) is a former Indonesian badminton player.

Career

Hok was 1958, 1961 and 1964 in the Indonesian Thomas Cup team that won the world championship for men's teams in the years mentioned three times in a row. 1959 and 1960 he won at the Canadian Open and the U.S. Open in men's singles. His biggest success in the individual disciplines Tan Joe Hok 1959 also celebrated in the men's singles, when he won the prestigious All England. In 1963 he lost the doubles final at the All England with Ferry Sonneville against Finn Kobberø and Jørgen Hansen Hammergaard. In the Asian Games 1962, he again won gold in the men's singles. For silver it reached the men's doubles with Liem Tjeng Kiang at the same event. In 1967 he celebrated his last major tournament victory in the Mixed with Retno Koestijah at the Malaysian Open.
