Smalfjord in Tanafjord

The Tanafjord ( Sami: Deanuvuotna ) is a fjord in the Norwegian county of Finnmark on the banks of the municipalities Gamvik, Berlevaag and Tana. The fjord extends from the Barents Sea, 70 km south to the settlement Smalfjord the fjord end. To the west of the fjord lies the Nordkinn Peninsula, east of the Varanger Peninsula.

The fjord entrance is between Omgangsneset in the west and in the east Skarveneset. The Tanafjord has many side arms are at the ends of most of the settlements.

Side fjords of Tanafjord are on its western side Tyfjord, Skardfjord, Rafjord, Hopsfjord and long fjord, and the Troll fjord on its eastern side. The fjord is divided at its end in five arms. From west to east these are Vestertana, Tarmfjord, Smalfjord, the mouth of the River Tana and Leirpollen.

The streets Riksvei 98 and Riksvei 890 extend along the fjord.
