Taro Kono

Taro Kono (Japanese河野 太郎, Kono taro; born January 10, 1963 in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture) is a Japanese politician and MP in the Shūgiin, the lower house for the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP ). Within the party he belongs to Asō faction.

Kono studied after the visit of the connected middle and high schools at the Keio University, and then studied at Georgetown University. During his time in the United States, he worked for the Democratic Senator Alan Cranston and Mr Richard Shelby - then also a Democrat. After graduating in 1985, he worked from 1986 for Fuji Xerox 1993 for the automotive supplier Nippon Tanshi.

In the 1996 election Shūgiin Kono was first elected for the LDP in the 15th constituency Kanagawa parliament. The constituency, which includes his hometown Hiratsuka, he was then able to win four times in a row. From 2005 to 2006 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, in Shūgiin he was from 2008 Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. In 2009, he explained after the resignation of Prime Minister Taro Aso his candidacy in the election of the party leader, but was defeated, the more experienced Sadakazu Tanigaki.

Kono is also a visiting professor at Hosei University and Chairman of the Athletics Association of Kanagawa, the Triathlon Association of Kanagawa and former Chairman and Managing Director of KK Shonan Bell Mare.

Family

Kono Yohei 's father was a member and president of the Shūgiin, in the 1990s, LDP party leader and President of the Japanese Association of Athletics Federations Nihon Rikuren (English JAAF ). His great-uncle was a member and president of Kenzo Sangiin, the House of Lords, and 1965-1975 President of the Japanese Association of Athletics Federations. And his grandfather Ichirō was between 1932-1965 deputy, after the war, co-founder of the LDP, several times minister, and in 1965 President of the Japanese Association of Athletics Federations.

KONOS mother is a daughter of the entrepreneur Kyoichi Itō and granddaughter of Chube Itō, the founder of today's trading companies Itochu Shoji and Marubeni.
