The Tashkent airport ( Uzbek: Toshkent Xalqaro Aeroporti; Russian Ташкент - Южный аэропорт ) is an international airport in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan. He is on the number of passengers forth the most frequented of the country. He is a 15 to 30 minute drive away from the city center.

The history of the airport can be traced back to 1923 with the initiation of the first flights to Tashkent. During the Soviet period, a larger commercial airport developed. 1993 1.4099 million people used the airport. The mid-1990s, the airport was considerably renovated with the help of western construction groups. 2001 was followed by the terminal redevelopment. In 2003 he was named the best airport in the CIS.
