Tatyana Tolstaya

Tatjana Nikititschna Tolstaja (Russian Татьяна Никитична Толстая, scientific transliteration Tatjana Nikitična Tolstaja; May 3, 1951 in Leningrad) is a Russian writer. Born into a noble family of writers she studied classical philology and worked as an editor. In 1987, in Moscow, her first collection of short stories, who introduced her in one fell swoop. Tolstaja spent considerable time in the USA, but now lives again in Russia.
