Tearce

Tearce ( Macedonian Теарце; Albanian Tearca or Tearc ) is a city and headquarters of the eponymous Opština in northwestern Macedonia. To the north is the Kosovo to the east and south and west Jegunovce Tetovo. The Opština Tearce consists of 13 villages: Neprosteno, Lesok, Varvara, Slatino, Brezno, Tearce, Prsovce, Glogji, Jelosnic, Dobroste, Prvce, Odri and Neraste.

Geography

In the Opština Tearce there are five rivers: Neprosteno ( Neprosteno ), Slatina ( Slatina ) Tearce ( Bistrica ), Dobroste ( Gabrovnica ) and Odri ( Odri ). Bistrica is 19.2 km the longest river in the Opština Tearce and flows of Tearce oh Prsovce.

History

On 22 January 2001 began with the shelling Albanian police station Tearce, killing a police officer and three others were injured, the Albanian uprising in Macedonia.

Demography

The ethnic groups are divided according to Population (as of 2002):

  • Albanians = 18,950
  • Macedonians = 2,739
  • Turks = 515
  • Roma = 51
  • Serbs = 7
  • Other = 167

Infrastructure

The Road B -405 leads from Tetovo to Jegunovce and crosses many villages of the municipality of Tearce. All inhabited places in the municipality Tearce are connected with motorable roads.

In the Opština Tearce there are four post offices in particular in: Slatina, Tearce, Dobroste and Neraste.
