Ted Kirkpatrick

Ted Kirkpatrick ( May 22nd, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is an American drummer and founding member of the band Tourniquet.

Life

Ted Kirkpatrick was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up there too on. At age 12, he started playing drums.

He is the drummer, songwriter and founder of he founded in 1990 with Christian speed / thrash metal band Tourniquet. Previously, he had briefly played in the band Trouble with Bruce Franklin. He was known to play mainly because of its exceptional nature drums.

Musical work

Kirkpatrick worked on all tourniquet albums as a drummer. Less frequently, he played acoustic guitar.

Ted Kirkpatrick combines with the drums, not just a rhythm instrument, but rather a full-fledged musical instrument, which is apparent in his playing style. Ted Kirkpatrick developed his technique and style of play alongside influences from other drummers from other unusual sources. For one, he is admirer of classical composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven. This is reflected in the songs of tourniquet expressed. Secondly, he traveled extensively to Papua New Guinea, in the Amazon Basin of South Brazil, Malaysia, Taiwan, Ecuador, the Solomon Islands and other countries.
