Pope instrument of first mention

The contacts of the company founded 1084/1085 Benedictine reform monastery Kloster Sankt Georgen in the Black Forest to the papacy were very positive in the high Middle Ages. A number of Pope privileges, starting with the certificate of Pope Urban II (1088-1099) of 8 March 1095 attests to this fact. Even under the St. Georgen Abbot Manegold of Berg ( 1169 - after 1193/1194 ) have come to the Black Forest Monastery, a number of papal documents. The most important of these privileges is undoubtedly the March 26, 1179. The abbot and the monks of St. Georgen, Pope Alexander III. in all previously acquired rights and possessions. In addition to the " Roman freedom ", the free Abbot and Vogt choice, this applied in particular to land ownership and the ownership of churches and monasteries in certain places. Among the enumerated places of the certificate is also Tennenbronn, which was first mentioned in written sources here. Already belonged to Tennenbronn then a parish church, so Tennenbronn had for its surroundings a certain center point function. The latter suggests that the place is a bit older than the first mention to 1179 suggests.
