Teodor Axentowicz

Teodor Axentowicz / (Armenian Թեոդոր Աքսենտովիչ / ( born May 13, 1859 in Brasov in Transylvania; † August 26, 1938 in Kraków ) was a Polish painter and graphic artist of Armenian origin.

Life

From 1879 to 1882 Axentowicz studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and then from 1882 to 1895 when Emile Auguste Carolus -Duran in Paris. In 1894 he collaborated with Wojciech Kossak and Jan Styka in the implementation of Racławice Panorama. Axentowicz went to Krakow in 1895 and became a professor at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts Krakow and 1910 its rector until 1934.
