Teplice District

The Okres Teplice ( translated as district Teplice ) was located in the northwest of the Czech Republic in the Ústí nad Labem Region. The Okresy were comparable to those counties in Germany in about and were disbanded on 31 December 2002 as authorities. At 469 km ² approximately 127,000 inhabitants in 34 municipalities with a total of 115 districts, nine cities.

161 km ² can be used for agriculture, the forest area covers an area of about 46 %. Through the circle cause some major transport links. This includes the important railway line from Most to Ústí nad Labem and the highway from Prague to Dresden.

In business, there came in the last few years great changes. Some of the major industrial enterprises were closed or downsized. The mountainous area is used primarily for recreation. The most important role is played by the Winter Sports. Unemployment is close to 17 %, and rising.
