Teppei Takano

Teppei Takano (Japanese高 野 鉄 平, Teppei Takano; born November 25, 1983 in Minakami, Tone county, Gunma Prefecture) is a Japanese ski jumper.

His first internationals jumping denied Takano on 5 September 2001 in Sapporo during the Summer Grand Prix. On 15 December 2001, he started for the first time in the Continental Cup in Lahti, Finland and has already achieved COC points in his first competition. In the second jump he was even fifth. Based on this performance he was nominated for the 21th December for the World Cup competitions in Predazzo and reached on the large hill the 43rd. Only five days later, he won his first COC competition in St. Moritz.

On 25 January 2003, he won at the World Cup competition in Sapporo with 16th place on the large hill his first World Cup points. It was also the highest individual placing in a World Cup competition so far in his career. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme, he reached the 26th place on the normal hill. A week later he was able to reach the 4th place together with Kazuyoshi Funaki, Hideharu Miyahira and Noriaki Kasai in the World Cup team competition in Oslo, Norway.

Since 2005, Takano starts only at FIS races and the FIS Cup in his home Sapporo.
