Ter Aar

Ter Aar ( listen? / I ), popularly known also Aardam, was a town in the Dutch province of South Holland, with around 9000 inhabitants. Since 1 January 2007, together with Liemeer Nieuwkoop and a new church by the name of Nieuwkoop. Nieuwkoop will probably not be the final name of the new community.
Location
Ter Aar is situated near Alphen and about 30 km from Amsterdam.
Name
The name is from Ter Aar De Aar channel, today Aarkanal derived.
