Teresa Piotrowska

Teresa Piotrowska ( born February 5, 1955 in Tczew ) is a Polish politician, Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ).

Life and political career

Teresa Piotrowska visited the general education school " Marie Skłodowska Curie " and then studied at the Academy of Catholic Theology (now Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw - ) history and theology. In 1980 she began working at the Catholic Association Pax. Furthermore Teresa Piotrowska worked as a primary school teacher in Bydgoszcz. In the 1990s she was a member of the Zjednoczenie Chrześcijańsko - Narodowe (Christian National Union) and in 1994 was elected to the City Council of Bydgoszcz and there appointed to the Executive Board of the City Council. In 1998, she became the voivode of the Voivodship Kujawy. In 1999, Teresa Piotrowska joined the Public Procurement Office ( Urząd Zamówień Publicznych ), where he was deputy head. In the parliamentary elections of 2001 she went to the Civic Platform and was able to win with 16,716 votes, a mandate for the Sejm. At the same time it was from 2001 to 2005 chairman of the Civic Platform for Kujawsko - Pomerania. In the parliamentary elections in 2005, they could win a seat in the Sejm again. In 2006, she ran unsuccessfully for the post of Mayor of Bydgoszcz. In the early elections in 2007 Teresa Piotrowska stepped in again and could renew with 12,558 votes out its mandate.
