Testify (Phil Collins album)

Testify ( Engl.: " what ," " testify " or " manifest " ) is the seventh studio album by British singer Phil Collins. He appeared in November 2002 and reached number three on the German charts, number two in Switzerland, # 5 in Austria and # 15 in the UK.

Background

Testify was created over a period of two years in Switzerland, where Collins lives. It was recorded in France and the U.S. with producer Rob Cavallo. Collins had recorded Dance into the Light without drum machine. On the other hand, Testify is again such a hearing. The first single, Can not Stop Loving You is a cover of Leo Sayer, in the original I Can not Stop Loving You ( Though I Try ). Even otherwise, the pieces fall mostly of ballads and follow a simple verse-chorus - scheme.

Criticism

  • The website Laut.de wrote: "So worn out and consumed the usual knitting pattern may be, the little man with a bald head apparently feels in them as a fiddle. " It was given to the album three out of five stars.
