Tetsuko Kuroyanagi

Tetsuko Kuroyanagi ( jap黒 柳 彻 子, Kuroyanagi Tetsuko, born August 9, 1933, Nogizaka, Akasaka, Tokyo ( today: Nogizaka, Minato, Tokyo) ) is a Japanese actress and writer.

Since 1976 she is the presenter at TV Asahi running daily talk show Tetsuko no Heya (徹子の部屋, literally " Tetsukos room"), which was also the first in Japan.

Internationally known for it is the 1981 published autobiographical children's book Madogiwa no Totto -chan (English title: . Totto -chan So wonderful school may be. ), Which was originally published as a series of articles in a journal. Then also founded by her Totto Foundation (トット 基金, Totto kikin ) is named, which is concerned with the disabled and especially to the deaf.

Kuroyanagi is Chairman of WWF Japan since 1984 and Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.
