Thaba-Tseka District

The district Thaba- Tseka is one of ten districts ( districts ) of the Kingdom of Lesotho in southern Africa.

Geography

The district lies to the east of Lesotho. It is named after its capital, Thaba- Tseka.

Its size is 4270 km ², its population 129,137 (as of 2006). He has the second lowest population density after the Mokhotlong district.

The district Thaba- Tseka located in the center of the dam system of the Lesotho Highland Water Project. Through this major project, the infrastructure of the district has improved significantly.

Policy

The district Thaba- Tseka was only created in the early 1980s as the youngest district of Lesotho from areas of other districts. The goal was a better development of the mountain region.
