Thad J. Jakubowski
Thaddeus Joseph Jakubowski, usual: Thad J. Jakubowski ( born April 5, 1924 in Chicago, † July 14, 2013 ibid ) was auxiliary bishop in Chicago.
Life
Thad J. Jakubowski first attended the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School and St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School in Chicago and then joined the Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary. He studied philosophy and theology at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake ( Mundelein Seminary ). At Loyola University Chicago, he studied classical sciences.
The Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Stritch Samuel Alphonsius, donated him on 3 May 1950, the ordination. He was in the Archdiocese of Chicago operates in pastoral and teacher of classical languages at Quigley Preparatory Seminary. He was Dean of Vicariate IV (1977-1982; 1984-1988 ).
Pope John Paul II appointed him on 16 February 1988 Titular Bishop of Plestia and appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago and Vicar General of the Vicariate IV The Archbishop of Chicago Joseph Louis Cardinal Bernardin consecrated him on 11 April of the same year to the bishop; Co-consecrators were Alfred Leo Abramowicz, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, and William Hayes Nevin O. Carm, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago.
He engaged in particular for residents with Polish background in Chicago. On 24 January 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
