Thalmus Rasulala

Thalmus Rasulala ( native: Jack Crowder; * November 15, 1939 in Miami, Florida, USA; † 9 October 1991 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States) was an American film and theater actor.

Life

Rasulala grew up in California, where he was a student at the private University of Redlands. As a young man he learned at a company in Los Angeles the profession of public relations agents. His military service he provided thereafter at United States Air Force, where he worked as a coordinator for contracts and orders in the office.

Angang 1960s began Rasulala, then under his birth name Jack Crowder to work as an actor and made his debut in 1961 in an episode of the TV series Tales of Wells Fargo. Between January 1964 and January 1970 he was in 2844 performances in Hello Dolly! Broadway on the stage, and in 1968 was awarded the Theatre World Award. It should be his only appearance on Broadway as Rasulala then occurred only at smaller theaters.

Only after ten years in theater and television in 1971, he changed his name to the more unusual -sounding pseudonym Thalmus Rasulala. Overall, he was about 80 times before the camera, mainly in television series. Among them are cult formats such as Cobra, accept (1973 ), Kojak - Kojak (1977 ), Cagney & Lacey (1985 ) and most recently in The Killer Brigade and Star Trek 1989: Finding the next century.

Rasulala, who was African-American, was diagnosed with leukemia, but died in October 1991 of a heart attack shortly before his 52nd birthday.
