The Appleseed Cast

The Appleseed Cast is a founded in 1997 in Southern California, heavily influenced by the 1990s Emo sound indie rock band, but whose work you can also assign the post-rock part.

History

The Appleseed Cast founded in 1997 with Christopher Crisci (vocals, guitar), Aaron Pillar (guitar, vocals), Jason Wicker Home ( electric bass), and Louie Ruiz (drums ) under the name December 's Tragic Drive. This name is based on a line of text from the song Seven by Sunny Day Real Estate.

Back in 1998, they called themselves The Appleseed Cast and were taken at the label Deep Elm Records. Now their debut album The End Of The Ring Wars appeared, which import large underground success. In 1999, she moved to Kansas, but Louie Ruiz did not want to come along, which is why he was replaced by Josh Baruth.

Even before 2000, the second album Mare Vitalis appeared, bassist Jason Wicker home was thrown due to disputes with the rest of the members of the band. As a substitute Marc Young was committed. 2001 appeared Low Level Owl Volume One and Volume Two Low Level Owl at intervals of two months. The pieces contained on the album Lost Songs published in 2002 has already been written in the period between End Of The Ring Wars and Mare Vitalis, but initially not included because of the breaks within the band. The contract with Deep Elm was met with Lost songs. In 2003, they came with the new band member Jordan Geiger (keyboard) at New York's Tiger Style Records and released Two Conversations.

Shortly after the publication of Two Conversations, tensions arose between the band members, as a result of which the former drummer Josh Baruth his service in 2004 resigned to pursue higher education. While the Tiger Style label was disbanded for financial reasons, Crisci started a side project called Old Canes and Jordan Geiger left Appleseed Cast also. At this time was uncertain whether the band would ever release another album.

The remaining band members Crisci, Pillar and Young, Nathan Richardson decided only in 2005 that included as new drummer and to sign a contract with the label Militia Group. There, the album Peregrine appeared in April 2006. Later that year, Nathan Richardson left the band again and was replaced by Aaron Coker. Coker accompanied the band until the release of the next studio album Sagarmatha in 2009. With bassist Marc Young has previously been the second musician had therefore decided to study and to remaining in the band.

Since the publication of Sagarmatha first were the founding members Christopher Crisci and Aaron Pillar as the only real band members, which should be supplemented on tour by a drummer and a bassist. These roles were filled by Nate Whitman (bass) and John Momberg (drums).

In June 2011, the EP Middle States appeared.

For 9 April 2013, the release of the new studio album "Illumination Ritual" via Grave Face Records is announced. In addition to Crisci and Whitman now include Taylor Get Beck ( guitar) and Nathan Wilder ( drums) to the band members.
