The Birthday Massacre

The Birthday Massacre is a synth rock band from Toronto, Canada. It was founded in 1999 - at that time still under the name Imagica.

Concept

The Birthday Massacre sees himself as a " musical / visual project" with the aim " to be integrated into an overall concept of fashion, images and Performance" their music.

In addition to performances, the band primarily uses successfully the Internet to spread their music and gain notoriety.

Career

During her college years, founded Chibi (vocals), Rainbow ( guitar), M. Falcore (guitar), Aslan ( bass) and thanks God (keyboard) in London, Ontario, the band Imagica. For live performances, they were of drummers like OE supported. During this time they released a limited edition demo recording with seven titles.

After thank God left the band in 2001, the rest of the group moved to Toronto to begin with studio recordings. There they again published a limited demo with five titles. Shortly thereafter, Imagica renamed after legal squabbles in The Birthday Massacre. In July 2002 the formation published and self-distributed a limited edition CD entitled Nothing and Nowhere.

2003 occurred Adm (keyboard) and Rhim (drums) in the group. In July 2004, published their EP The Birthday Massacre Violet ( 9 items) and the end of the same year a new edition of Nothing and Nowhere. Adm soon left again the formation to devote one's projects. In the fall of 2004, they were taken from the German label Repo Records and published a revised and expanded version of Violet in Europe.

In 2005 she signed a contract with Metropolis Records and released Violet in the U.S., Canada, UK and large parts of South Africa. In August joined O -En (keyboard) and The Birthday Massacre started an international tour through Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Czech Republic and Belgium. In the same month a DVD with the video was released for the song Blue. They also included a studio recording of Nevermind and live recordings of Violet and Video kid.

In early 2006, she led her Broken Minds tour of North America with performances in Canada, USA and Mexico. After they appeared in Europe in the summer, they worked on their new album Walking with Strangers, which was released on 21 September 2007.

In October and November 2007, she presented the new songs from Walking with Strangers live before and were, inter alia, in England, France, Spain, Switzerland and Germany.

In May 2009, then released their live album Show and Tell. The recordings date from the year 2007, during their tour through Germany. In October of the same year the same DVD released by the appearance.

In addition to these performances, they are also seen at festivals such as Mera Luna.

The fifth studio album Hide and Seek was released on October 12, 2012 worldwide.
