The Black Balloon is an Australian feature film from the year 2008.

Action

Thomas will soon be 16 years old and is fresh and his family moved to a new city. His father Simon is a soldier, his mother Maggie pregnant and his older brother Charlie is due to its autistic disorder in the center of family events. Charlie does not speak and is hyperactive. Not an easy situation for a young person. With the move, Thomas comes to a new school. The rescue swimming lessons have the most difficulty to him. Here he is fast due to his lack of swimming assets to outsiders.

Thomas falls precisely in the beautiful Jackie, who also happens to be an excellent swimmer. When his brother Charlie runs away from home, pursues him Thomas through the neighborhood. Charlie penetrates calculated into the home of Jackie and use their toilet. Thomas followed him up there and needs to realize that Jackie is just naked in the same room in the shower. Through this faux pas, the two young people are becoming closer. It develops a romantic love story that is repeatedly disturbed by the activities of Thomas ' family. But the most touching Thomas takes care of Charlie, the stronger the bond to Jackie.
