The Bookman (London)

The Bookman was a British literary magazine.

The publisher Hodder & Stoughton in London published this magazine monthly 1891-1934. Planned was an instrument as an advertisement for the publisher's own publications, simply through the reviews and essays by various authors to The Bookman changed but soon the "right " literary magazine.

Editors were, inter alia, William R. Nicoll, Arthur St. John Adcock and Hugh R. Williamson.

Contributions wrote Gertrude Atherton, JM Barrie, Samuel Beckett, Walter Pater, Arthur Ransome, Edward Thomas, Guy Thorne, William Butler Yeats, and more.
