Countdown X ( Original title: The Cape) is an American television series containing elements of science fiction, action and adventure, and was produced for syndication from 1996 to 1997.

Action

Countdown X tells the story of the selected members of the NASA Astronaut Corps at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with a focus on their personal lives, which for Space Shuttle missions and perform them. Star of the television series is Corbin Bernsen as USAF Colonel Henry J. " Bull" Eckert, an experienced astronaut at an early stage of the television series Head of the Astronaut training is but later as the office manager takes over.

Background

The show puts its focus on its authenticity and was filmed in and around Cape Canaveral in Florida. Former Astronaut Buzz Aldrin served as technical advisor. In the United States, it was first broadcast on 9 September 1996, in Germany they had on 22 August 1997 on RTL II premiered.

Awards

The composer John Debney and Louis Febre won an Emmy in 1997 for her music in the TV series.

The television series was also nominated in the categories of Outstanding Sound Editing For A Series and Outstanding Main Title Music for a series 1997.
