The Charleston Chasers

The Charleston Chasers were a studio jazz band of Chicago jazz in the second half of the 1920s.

The name The Charleston Chasers was used as a band name for a series of shots of various musicians occupations 1925-1930. The Charleston Chasers were no publicly, but were a pure studio ensemble for Columbia Records. In the formation played in different compositions, inter alia, Vic Berton, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Dick McDonough, Glenn Miller, Miff Mole, Phil Napoleon, Red Nichols, Pee Wee Russell, Arthur rubble, Joe Tartoo and Charlie and Jack Teagarden; Band singers were Scrappy Lambert, Paul Small, Kate Smith and Eva Taylor. In May 1927, succeeded in the formation of Red Nichols, Jimmy Dorsey and Miff Mole with "Someday, Sweetheart" to place a first hit (# 19) into the national charts; it was followed by " One Sweet Letter " from You ( # 14) in July 1927, as the last hit " Moanin ' Low" (# 19) in October 1929. The Charleston Chasers were in some recordings also a pseudonym of Red Nichols Five Pennies, the regular recordings for Brunswick Records.
