Band History

Just a few months published after its founding, The Enemy released their first single " 40 Days and 40 Nights" as a limited vinyl edition. Shortly afterwards, they were touted as "Breakthrough Act 2007" by NME and received a contract with the Warner Music Group Stiff Records.

Their single "Away from Here " reached number 8 in her home in the charts and their successors " Had Enough " debuted at No. 4. Through the emerging success they got more opportunities to act alongside established bands. So they played alongside The Wombats and Lethal Bizzle on the NME 2007 Rock ' N' Roll Riot Tour as the opening act and supported the Rolling Stones in the O ₂ Arena.

In early 2008 The Enemy won the XFM "Best New Music" award and were at the NME Awards in the categories of "Best New Band" and " Best Album " nomination.

On 24 April 2009 they released their second album "Music for the People".
