The Fair Sorochyntsi is the title of a comic opera by Modest Mussorgsky based on the eponymous short story from the collection Evenings on the hamlet in Dikanka of Nikolai Gogol. The premiere took place in 1911 in Saint Petersburg.

Action

Full of joy, visited farmer Tcherevik the carnival of Sorochyntsi. A gypsy entertains the people with an exciting story about the devil. This is every year as boar dressed make the fair uncertain.
