Packaging and Equipment

Originally, the actor Burt Reynolds should assume the role of Colt Seavers, but then went to Lee Majors.

Leader

The bias was determined by stunt scenes that show apparently the hero of the series in his work. Individual settings were cut from spectacular stunts former films, almost as citations to the profession or as a hint that Colt Seavers could have done this:

  • Trans America Express (jump from the train's roof on a train signal, Figure: George Caldwell )
  • Mister trillion ( flight of a car by a moving freight train wagon, figure Guido Falcone )
  • Kesse Mary - Gaga Larry ( A car drives into the car of a moving freight train, Figure: Larry )
  • On the Trail of the Eagle ( A man hangs from a helicopter, Figure: Jim McCabe )
  • The Poseidon Adventure ( A man falling into a glass roof)
  • Two bandits ( two men jump off a cliff into the river, characters: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid)

Theme music

The theme song The Unknown Stuntman sung by Lee Majors himself. It was composed by Glen A. Larson, Gail Jensen, and David Sommerville, and reached number 11 in the German charts Volker Lechtenbrink took a German version of the song called on the stuntman. Another German version is titled He is an unknown stuntman and sung by Tom Astor.

Colt Seavers ' cars

In the pickup Colt Seavers is a GMC Sierra Grande 1980 models until 1984. There was a contract with GMC, which undertook for the stunts ( in which many of the cars were driven to scrap ) in each case always the same car to deliver. During the recordings as many pickups were broken (especially when jumping scenes) that GMC undertook a remodeling and new motor einbaute under the respective driver's seat.

Lee Majors plays with in a commercial for the 2007 Honda CR- V, which is based on the title sequence of the series. Major sees on a ride with the Honda from making repeat the previous stunts and moves rather cozy home. As music is a version of the title song The Unknown Stuntman by Smokestack Lightnin ' is ' to hear.

Tricks and Stunts

As sequences were used from other movies already in the introduction, the central chase from the movie The Driver was cut together from 1978 new and used as the main part of the track, especially in the episode trappers of the third season. Only the recordings with the main actors in the car were fitted in front of a "rolling canvas ". In every season has also worked with motion effects to simulate higher speed chases.
