Glen A. Larson

Glen Albert Larson ( born January 3, 1937 in Los Angeles, California) is an American author, film producer and composer.

Life

Larson, who was a member of the singing group The Four Preps in the 1950s and is under this pseudonym also often appear in the credits of which he produces films and television series, coined the television landscape of the 1980s like no one else.

Its versatility proved Larson not only as a producer of successful television series, but also as a writer and composer. Many of his series developed Larson himself, and composed the theme music; often in collaboration with Stu Phillips and Mike Post.

For series McCloud (1973) and Magnum (1981 ), which he produced along with Donald P. Bellisario, he received an Edgar Allan Poe Award, respectively. For the title theme of Battlestar Galactica, he was nominated for a Grammy. In 1989, Larson led in the pilot broadcast of Chameleons Director. In 2008 he was commissioned to develop a sequel to the series Knight Rider. The rights to the film adaptation of the 80s cult series bought the Weinstein Co.

Currently Larson, who is divorced and has two sons working on a completely new version of Battlestar Galactica, which will be released as a movie under the distributed by Universal Pictures. He also worked for the series Caprica, as also previously on Battlestar Galactica (2003) as " Advisory producer " (English consulting producer).
