Green is the Heath is a German feature film based on themes by Hermann Lons from 1932 and a model for the much more famous remake Green is the Heath by 1951. In Austria, the film was released under the title The mysterious poacher. First performance was in Hanover on November 20, 1932.
Action
The young forester Walter wants to make a dangerous poachers in the Lüneburg Heath. He pursued a man in the house of the landowner Lüdersen and get to know his daughter Greta. Grete discovers that her father, the formerly belonged to the whole area, the poacher is. She asks him to come with her to the city.
Walter gets the poachers not to grasp. Oberforstrat Schliepemann can then convert the whole area. The traveling merchants woodpecker is arrested as poachers. Lüdersen had woodpecker surprised and was thereby injured by this lethal. He dies while he lays Grete's hand in that of Walter.
More
In the remake, 1951, the action was a catchy update by the poaching of the landowner was justified by the expulsion from the home. Instead of the tragic end, there was a happy ending.
