The Heavy (band)

The Heavy are a British indie rock band from Noid at Bath in southwest England.

Career

Already in the late 1990s founded the Friends Kelvin Swaby and Dan Taylor with other musicians, the band The Heavy. Only in 2007, they took on a London label on their first singles and in the same year appeared her debut album Great Vengeance and Furious Fire. The following year, it was also released in the United States and The Heavy joined, among others at the festival South by Southwest in Texas. But there were also reshuffles, the two singers left the band; Singer -songwriter and guitarist Taylor Swaby led the band with bassist Spencer Page and new drummer Chris Ellul foursome on.

Nearly two years later, they released their second album The House That Dirt Built, which brought them to the States the breakthrough. It reached # 6 of Heatseeker charts and also entered the official Billboard 200 single release your How Do You Like Me Now? is included in the soundtrack of the films Horrible Bosses, The Fighter and Ted. In addition, the Title Short Change Hero acts as a musical background of the intro videos of Borderlands 2, a game development studio Gearbox Software, and as the theme song of the TV series Strike Back.

The song What Makes A Good Man served as one of the official theme song for WWE Royal Rumble 2013.
