The Incredible String Band

The Incredible String Band, short ISB, is a Scottish folk band from Glasgow.

Band History

The Incredible String Band was founded by Robin Williamson, Mike Heron and Clive Palmer in 1965 in Glasgow. All three were then young Scottish folk musician. Clive Palmer left the group after the first album and later founded Clive 's original band and The Famous Jug Band.

Williamson went to the U.S., order to continue to pursue the music business, Heron remained in Scotland and published some plates. Simpson 1994 Mayor of Aberystwyth, the whereabouts of McKechnie is unknown.

1997, there was a reunion for two concerts with Mrs. Robins Bina Williamson and Lawson Dando, and from 1999 sporadic concerts with Clive Palmer. The concert on 17 and 18 August 2000 at the Bloomsbury Theatre London was partially released on CD.

In retrospect, is that the ISB were one of the first representatives of the so-called world music.
