The Jeff Dunham Show was a stand-up comedy with the ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, who uses speaking for his jokes dolls. The series ran from October 22 to December 10, 2009 on Comedy Central United States. A total of seven episodes were produced. Since 12 September 2010, the series can also be seen in the German synchronization of Robert Missler on Comedy Central Germany.

Background

On 29 December 2009, it was announced that the The Jeff Dunham Show would not return despite above-average odds for a second season. Nellie Andreeva, one of the producers, said that higher production costs were the trigger that the series had been recruited.

The Complete TV series was released on May 18, 2010 in the U.S. on the DVD The Jeff Dunham Show.

Ratings and critical reception

The show's first episode in the U.S. drew 5.3 million viewers.

The series did not have a good start in terms of reviews. Metacritic gave the series 20 points on a scale to 100 This negative criticism came about mainly because of the prejudice against Dunham and ventriloquism in general. Randee Dawn of The Hollywood Reporter, the doll was racist.
